About the Guidelines
The CCUDGP seeks to set forth a body of guidelines for the development of the public realm (e.g. sidewalk design, street design, and parks) as well as setting high standards in the private realm, meaning the character of individual buildings form, massing, detail, and materials.
The Central City Urban Design Plan will be developed in two volumes. Volume 1 presents a range of guidelines and implementation recommendations for review as a body of broad design principles. Once this document has received full input from the public and city agencies, and adopted by City Council, work on Volumn 2 will begin. Volume 2 will articulate a vision for the public ways and parks of the Central City and the form and shape of the skyline using the principles and guidelines of Volume 1. These two volumns will comprise the Urban Design Plan for the Central City.
The completed Urban Design Plan-Volume 2 will articulate a vision for the public ways and parks of the Central City and the form and shape of the skyline using the principles and guidelines of Volume 1.
